Professor Fernando Hernandez-Hernandez from the University of Barcelona (UB), Spain, developed several activities at the School of Humanities through PUCRS Institutional Project of Internationalization (PUCRS-PrInt). For twenty days the researcher carried out his Working Mission at the Graduate Program (PPG) in Education and was hosted by Prof. Bettina Steren dos Santos, who completed her PhD at UB in 1996.

Professors Bettina and Fernando are part of Coletivo Monadas, which also counts on the participation of professor Juana Sancho Gil from the University of Barcelona, as well as professors from the University of La República, Uruguay, and from the University of Buenos Aires. The group has a long history of scientific productions seeking to frame and deeply address the problems and challenges of contemporary universities. During his mission at PUCRS, the Spanish professor had a meeting to discuss the elements that impact teaching and learning in universities, especially since the pandemic.

A seminar was also held with the Graduate Program in Education on post-qualitative research, seeking to propose a reflection to students on their research projects, aiming to expand their tools and enable other ways of seeing and investigating. In addition, with the participation of undergraduate students in Pedagogy, he gave two lectures on the theme: “Pedagogies that promote globalized learning and imagine the future of education”. The audience was invited to think through examples of new proposals and educational management strategies.

Also, in meetings with the PROMOT (Motivational Processes in Educational Contexts) research group, the professor met with professors Bettina and Juana Sancho to talk about the projects developed and think about the professor training experience in collaboration with the researchers, with the aim of exploring different possibilities for the educational experience.

Besides offering various activities for students and researchers of the Graduate Program in Education, the work of Professor Hernandez-Hernandez at PUCRS also aimed to advance in the research under the project TRAY-AP – Trayectorias de aprendizaje de jóvenes universitários: concepciones, estratégias, tecnologias y contextos, in which Bettina participates together with the UB research group Esbrina and peers from the Basque Country, Spain.
