NOVA University Lisbon and PUCRS strengthen cooperation through the PrInt Program

Faculty member from the Portuguese university works as visiting professor at PUCRS through PrInt

On March 15, the Office for International Cooperation (ECI), with its executive coordinator, Carla Denise Bonan, and professor from the graduate programs in Philosophy and Criminal Sciences, Augusto Jobim do Amaral, welcomed professor and researcher from Portugal’s NOVA University Lisbon, Erik Bordeleau. The professor is at PUCRS through the Institutional Project of Internationalization (PUCRS-PrInt).

The researcher is a philosopher and studies contemporary art and its intersections with politics and finance. He has a PhD from the University of Montreal. Still in Canada, he is a researcher at SenseLab, in Concordia University.

The professor’s visit aims to strengthen the cooperation developed within the framework of the Graduate Program in Philosophy, from the School of Humanities. During the reception, they discussed ways to further develop institutional agreements and partnerships between NOVA University Lisbon and PUCRS. They also assessed the PUCRS-PrInt Program and the possibilities of future joint operations.

During his time at PUCRS, Bordeleau gave the lecture “The Derivative Community: On Soulful Asset Formation” to students from the School of Humanities, as well as the opening class for the Graduate Program in Philosophy. In addition, perspectives were discussed for the professor to become a foreign associate researcher at PUCRS.
