Earlier this December, the Office for International Cooperation held a predeparture meeting with students who will participate in the Academic Mobility Program in 2024. In the coming semester, 35 students from all the schools will head to 22 universities, where they will stay during 6 months.

At the meeting, the students took part in a lecture that discussed cultural clashes, travel tips, experiences abroad, and academic information. The selected students will take courses approved in the study plan by the coordinator and will have these credits transferred once they are back at PUCRS. Expectations for Canada

Business Administration student with training in Marketing from the Business School, Victoria Albuquerque, will be attending Concordia University, in Canada. “It is an important university in the world of business, one of the best programs. It will be interesting to have new perspectives on studies, especially at the end of my program. In addition, I think the country of destination is matters a lot in the decision. Since I was a teenager, I have loved Canada and their culture, so I believe it will be a very interesting experience,” she stresses.

The future business administrator believes this experience will expand her knowledge and help her understand the global reality of administration. “My expectations are to broaden my knowledge on business administration with an international perspective, seeing how Canada perceives certain strategy and marketing issues. The contact will an international university will be enriching, both professionally and regarding soft skills,” adds Victoria.

Inspirations in Germany

Creative Writing student from the School of Humanities, Matheus Müller, is heading to the University of Tübingen, in Germany. The destination was a decisive factor in his choice. “Reading inspired me to seek knowledge in a different country. Germany was an exceptional destination, because history periods can be seen in every concrete block, tree and person on the East and West of the Rhine. The great authors who lived in the land of the poets, philosophers and scientist — such is Heisenberg, Kant or Goethe — scribbled ideas disseminated by the steam of industrialization; the development of a nation with opportunities and technical, scientific and cultural advance,” says Müller.
