PUCRS will be at a higher level of internationalization in the first semester of 2020. This is because it has opened its doors to 41 international students who chose our University for their academic mobility program, and 7 other students enrolled in the Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação (PEC-G), a cooperation program run by the Ministry of Education of Brazil, which is geared towards the promotion of education in developing countries. The group includes students from 16 countries: Germany, Benin, Bolivia, Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Ecuador, Spain, United States, France, Ghana, Italy, United Kingdom, Republic of Congo, Mexico and East Timor.

On Mar 2 and 3, the incoming students joined the Orientation Seminar, promoted by the Office for International Cooperation. The program included academic orientation, a tour of the Campus, a tour of Porto Alegre, activities with Buddy Program partners and a welcome reception.

Students will be enrolled in programs in the 7 Academic Schools and are expected to join integration activities over the course of the semester. Students who are interested in welcoming international students in the next semester, can apply for the Buddy Program. Registrations begin in April.

They will be enrolled in 7 courses in 2020/1.
