Through PUCRS’s Institutional Plan of Internationalization (PUCRS-PrInt), Gabriela Pereira, professor from Danube University Krems in Austria, visited the University for academic activities. The professor participates in the project on the macro and microeconomic aspects associated with economic development, coordinated by Edimara Mezzomo Luciano, professor from the Business School.

Gabriela Pereira, PhD holder through PUCRS’s Graduate Program in Business Administration, in addition to giving a lecture on the role of the government in supporting the development of intelligent communities, also held meetings with Masters and PhD students to contribute with research themes and identify cooperation opportunities. The partnership has existed for over 5 years, and has developed various strategic joint projects.

For Edimara, the future is very promising. “Perspectives are very positive, since we have many concrete results since 2019. Within the goal of CAPES Print as an institutional project, various activities have been carried out with Danube University Krems,” she says.

The interinstitutional partnership for the development and enhancement of the universities’ scientific activities should become even more connected in the next years. “The main prospect is the new ERASMUS project, which brings resources, but also places PUCRS in a high-level international consortium, which contributes for the researchers and students involved to have a global dimension associated to their research and, thus, develop and consolidate skills for the social impact of the research,” explains the professor.
