Astronomy Observatory offers activities at no charge and open to all audiences

50º Homem na Lua_Redes Sociais_Facebook InglêsThe Astronomy Observatory of PUCRS will be home to a thematic exhibit from Jul 15 – 19, from 6 PM 10 to PM. Titled A small step for a man, a giant leap for humanity – Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the First Man on the Moon, the initiative is supported by the Consulate General of the United States in Porto Alegre and part of a program that celebrates one of the greatest achievements in human history. This major achievement has produced a number of benefits for our lives.

The observatory will display materials and artifacts that were used in 1960s and 1970s at no charge. Participants will also have the chance to observe the Moon through a telescope. On July 19, the day before the 50th anniversary of the day Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the lunar surface, a documentary about the trip will be exhibited.
