The life and art of João Pedro

22/04/2019 - 10h05

2019_04_15-veronica_stiggerTo mark the end of exhibit Nosso Corpo Estranho (Our Foreign Body), on Apr 30, at 2:30 PM, curator, writer and art historian Veronica Stigger will be coming to PUCRS for a session with its developer, Reginaldo Pujol Filho. The event is going to be on the 12th floor of the Main Library of PUCRS – which is there the exhibit occurs. Veronica and Reginaldo will be discussing the relationship between biography and art, in view of Nosso Corpo Estranho.

Art, life, creation, narratives and their relations in contemporary production will be discussed in this session. The idea is to provide deeper insights into the issues brought forth in Nosso Corpo Estranho, which results from the Reginaldo Pujol Filho’s doctoral research in Creative Writing. In his work, he looked at the presence of literature in art exhibits and their narrative potential. He begins by looking at the exhibit texts that allow readers to understand the life o artist João Paulo and imagine works of art. These texts complement one another with the visual interpretation developed by artists Guilherme Dable, Letícia Lopes and Munir Klamt, who have worked together to create specific materials for this exhibit, in view of the narratives underlying it.
