One of the greatest national exponents of Physical Education to be honored at PUCRS
PUCRS is to award an Honorary Degree on Professor Lamartine Pereira da Costa, one of the most renowned Physical Education enthusiasts in Brazil. The ceremony will occur on Apr 29, at 10:30, in the auditorium of building 9.
Lamartine da Costa holds a degree in Physical Education and Naval Sciences. He has completed a Doctorate in Philosophy and received a Tenure in Sports Management. He served as a President of the Brazilian Olympic Academy COB, from 1991 to 1998. He took part in the Research Committee of the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne (Switzerland) from 2001 to 2008. He also took part in the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada)-Montreal (Canada) from 2000 to 2008 and the Consultant Board of the Russian International Olympic University in 2015. He also served as a visiting professor at the following universities: Universidade Técnica de Lisboa and Universidade do Porto (Portugal), International Olympic Academy (Greece), at the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (Spain) and University of East London (UK).
