Event scheduled for Apr 29 at Living 360°
On Apr 29, the Pastoral and Solidarity Center will be promoting an event with Benedictine monk Laurence Freeman OSB, an important spiritual master and representative of Christian mediation in the world. He will be delivering the lecture Meditation – a contemplative view for the future of humanity. It will be at no charge and open to all audiences, from 10 AM to 12 PM, at the auditorium of Living 360°, room 226. No early registration is required.
Meditation studies
Dom Laurence Freeman is a Benedictine monk from the Olivetan Congregation of Monte Oliveto Maggiore. A native of London, he attended the University of Oxford. He served as a journalist and was disciple and friend of John Main, his spiritual master. He was the pioneer of Christian Meditation in London, in 1975, and in Montreal, in 1977, he also serves as the director of the Benedictine Oblate Community of the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM) and has served as editor for John Main’s works. He has written the following books: First Sight, The Selfless Self, Jesus the Teacher Within, Light Withinand Christian Meditation: Your Daily Practice. He comes to Brazil every year to conduct Christian mediation retreats and deliver open lectures in several cities in the country.
