PrInt to allow graduate level work with Canada

Agreement between CAPES and MITACS allows for mobility of Brazilian and Canadian students from 12 to 24 weeks

2019_05_27_logotipo_pucrs_print_atualizadaCAPES, the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education, has signed an agreement with MITACS, a non-profit Canadian organization, to send and receive PhD students from educational institutions from Brazil and Canada. The program is available for institutions participating in the CAPES/PrInt, which PUCRS was awarded since 2018.

PhD students can do a mobility program from 12 to 24 weeks. Every year, 160 vacancies will be available at MITACS’ partner institutions. CAPES/MITACS will also cooperate in awarding financial aid to students: each agency will bear 50% of the students’ total funding. Because of that, PUCRS will start an internal application process. CAPES will issue a final decision on the students selected in the internal application process and those that will be awarded by MITACS.
