Project presentation:
The project continued the development of numerical models for simulating the paleogeographical and paleoclimatic evolution of the South Atlantic, with emphasis on the probability of establishing favorable conditions for the deposition and preservation of sediments rich in organic matter in space and time, and consequently on the prediction occurrence of potential petroleum source rocks at the present time.
It allowed the enrichment of the database that presents the detailed paleoceanographic description, with successive refinements of the evolution of the configuration and bathymetry of the South Atlantic.
