Laboratories of Whasing machines – Energy Efficiency

In order for washing machines to be sold on the Brazilian market they must be submitted to electrical safety and washing efficiency tests. LABELO is accredited by Inmetro to carry out these tests and has a highly specialized technical team as well as state-of-the-art equipment.

Since January 1, 2006, when the labeling of Washing Machines became mandatory, LABELO has operated as an Inmetro accredited and designated laboratory in the confromity assessment of these devices for electrical safety, in accordance with the applicable technical standards.

LABELO is qualified to test all types of household washing machines from the families described below:

Washer-dryers.
Automatic washing machines
Semi-automatic washing machines.
Including front and top-load models.

NBR NM-IEC 335-1: 1998 – Safety of household and similar electrical appliances.
IEC 60335-2-4: 1993 – Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Particular requirements for spin extractors
IEC 60335-2-7: 2002 – Household and similar electrical appliances – Part 2-7: Particular requirements for washing machines.
IEC 60335-2-11: 2000 – Husehold and similar electrical appliuances – Safety – Particular requirements for Tumble Dryers.

How can I request a quote to test a washing machine?

Request a quote by email, providing the following information: company name, contact name and phone number, as well as the name, manufacturer and model of the equipment to be tested.

In order for the quoted service to be valid, approval must be given by signing the authorization form on the last page of the quote, which should then be faxed to +55 (51) 3320-3883 or (51) 3320-3901 or emailed.

What documents does the Laboratory require for electrical safety tests?

For electrical safety tests the equipment instructions and installation manual must be provided, in Portuguese, as well as the conformity information of the components in relation to the relevant IEC standards.

How many samples must be sent to the lab for energy efficiency and electrical safety tests?

One sample must be sent for electrical safety tests. Due to the destructive nature of electrical safety tests, additional sampls may be requsted on occasion. These tests also require additional componets to be sent together with the sample.
