The laboratory aims to cater to national industry by measuring the sound power of equipment and home appliances for the “Selo Ruído” (Noise Seal), as well as other devices and motors.
The laboratory has a reverberation chamber of approximately 120m³ capable of complying with Brazilian and international standards.
It also has specialized equipment, such as: octave-band analyzers, capacitive microphones, reference sound sources and analysis and measurement software for sound power.
The laboratory caters to the NBR 13910 series of standards, carrying out testing in line with ISO standard 3741
The Acoustic Testing Laboratory began operation at the end of 2005 and is located next to the energy efficiency laboratories complex.
