Project presentation:
Characterization of patterns of diagenetic processes responsible for quality variations in Cretaceous reservoir sandstones of the Santos Basin, to complement an ongoing study at Campo de Merluza by PUCRS.
Recognition of stratigraphic and petrological aspects that exert control over these diagenetic patterns in the indicated areas. Definition of reservoir petrofacies for the set of samples studied and establishment and correlation of petrofacies with other areas of the Santos Basin.
Elaboration of an empirical-conceptual model to explain and predict the quality of sandstones as reservoirs of hydrocarbons in the studied areas.
