Geochemistry and Petrophysics Laboratory

Geochemistry and Petrophysics Laboratory

The Laboratory of Geochemistry and Petrophysics (LGP) develops experimental and numerical models of geochemical processes with a focus on the characterization, formation and alterations of oil&gas reservoirs and potential reservoirs for CO2 storage, using specialized equipment for experiments in laboratory rock-fluid interactions under conditions sub-surface, in addition to advanced tools for geochemical modeling and simulations of flow and reactive transport in porous media. The LGP also has specific infrastructure for the special petrophysical characterization of reservoir rocks, performing measurements of porosity, absolute and relative permeability (oil-water or oil-gas) and capillary pressure.

The laboratory is accredited on the basis of ISO/IEC 17025.
