Professor from UCP-Viseu discusses Dentistry in Portugal and Europe

Professor André Maia Correia, from Universidade Católica Portuguesa de Viseu (UCP-Viseu) came to PUCRS, after an invitation by Graduate Program in Dentistry Professor Dr Rosemary Shinkai. Correia is a member of Shinkai’s research group in the Programa Institucional de Internacionalização (Institutional Program of Internationalization) (Capes/PrInt), as one of the members of the international team for the next 4 years. He has also opened his doors to PUCRS students in Portugal for doctoral internships.

In his visit to the University, the Portuguese researcher took part in several activities offered by the School of Health Sciences’ Dentistry program. Among other things, he had meetings at the Office for International Cooperation and at the Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies as well as a PhD defense and lectures for undergraduate and graduate students. In the lectures, he talked about Dentistry in Portugal and Europe, digital dentistry in prosthetics and implantology as well as the relationship between dentistry and engineering.

PUCRS and UCP have plans to expand the cooperation activities for 2019. Among the activities to be developed are joint programs, academic mobility of students and faculty and co-advising activities at the graduate level.
