University College London (UCL) was founded in 1826 and was the first university in England to welcome students of any religion, and to women to pursue a university education. UCL is a multidisciplinary university located at the heart of London.

In 2015, UCL also received its first institutional Silver Athena SWAN award which was renewed in 2021.
