Frequency Response and Terminal Impedance in Power Transformers

LABELO/PUCRS laboratories provide an additional service to the community through the technical assessment of electricity meters used by power companies to measure electricity consumption in homes, commercial establishments and industries.

This new service, in conjunction with the calibration services already performed and with Cgcre accreditation, aims to offer those interested a comprehensive analysis of the electricity meter to detect possible differences in values indicated and advise their causes, when relevant.

These services are available to consumers, power distribution companies, law enforcement agencies, government authorities, among others.

Electricity meters are devices used by power companies to record electricity consumption and are therefore subject to legal metrological control, since they are used in commercial transactions.

The service basically consists of the following stages:

  1. Receiving the electricity meter (sample), sealed and indicating the details of the interested parties;
  2. Calibration of the meter to identify measurement errors;
  3. Metrological verification to assess the measurement errors according to current ordinances;
  4. Analyze the possible causes, if any, for the errors found when greater than those permitted by INMETRO ordinances;
  5. Issue a technical report describing the data and technical records found;
  6. Return the calibrated meter in a sealed plastic envelope.

As an Cgcre accredited laboratory and member of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, LABELO has the necessary independence to impartially perform this activity. In addition, the entire task is performed in a manner that does not identify the interested parties (applicants) through automation of the process (only a protocol number is used).

Automation of the services is achieved using a system developed by LABELO/PUCRS known as REFRAM, System for the Identification of Meter Fraud, which allows for the independent and secure calibration of meters and the detection of fraud, if any.

Thse services must be requested directly from LABELO by email on [email protected] or by phone +55 51 3320-3551.
