Introduction

Luciano Aronne de Abreu is graduated in History (1993) and Master in History of Brazil (1995) by PUCRS; Doctor in Latin American History (2005) by UNISINOS. He is currently professor of the Graduate Program in History of PUCRS at the line of research entitled Politics, Intellectuals and Media, with researches on the following topics: Political History of Contemporary Brazil, Era Vargas, Political Authoritarianism and Rights and History of Brazilian Political-Social Thought. Nowadays he is also Editor in Chief of EDIPUCRS.
