Introduction

Full Professor at the Polytechnic School of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, teaching Mathematical Optimization, Queuing Theory, Probability and Statistics. Permanent professor at PPGEDUCEM (Graduate Program in Education in Science and Mathematics) at PUCRS (Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul), teaching Quantitative Methods for Research and disciplines in the area of technology applied to teaching. Full Professor (retired) at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where he taught Probability and Statistics courses for the Statistics course and for Engineering, Economics and Administration. He also served as a professor of Applied Econometrics for the Graduate Program in Economics. He works in the lines of research: Teaching Statistics, Probability and Mathematics, History of Statistics and Probability, Teaching with Computational Resources, Teaching Statistics and Probability with the Spreadsheet. He has more than 60 articles published in qualified journals, more than 40 book chapters, more than 50 articles in international congresses, in addition to 5 books. He holds a doctorate from the Federal University of Santa Catarina with Sandwich at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. Translator, consultant and reviewer of Group A, with 11 translated books and 13 technical reviews.
