Introduction

Dr. João Batista Blessmann Weber is originally from São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He received his dental degree from the Dental School of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in 1985 and became a specialist in Pediatric Dentistry from the Dental School of Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in 1990. Dr. Weber holds the MSc degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of São Paulo in Bauru, Brazil (FOB-USP). He obtained his PhD in Dentistry in 2003, from the Dental School of Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In 1993 he became a Clinical Lecturer in Pediatric Dentistry at Dental School of Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Dr. Weber teaches at the graduate and post-graduate levels. Dr. Weber is the Coordinator of the Ethics Committee on Animal Use (CEUA/PUCRS) and member of the coordinator commission of the school of dentistry in the school of health sciences at PUCRS.
