Introduction

Gabriele is researcher and coordinator of the Nanomedicine and Neuroscience Laboratories at the Brain Institute (BraIns) of PUCRS. She is biologist, completed Master's Degree and PhD in Medicine and Health Sciences with emphasis on Neuroscience at PUCRS. She developed part of her PhD at the Institute for Regenerative Medicine at Texas A&M University (USA), and then carried out her post-doctorate in Neuroscience, developing her research fields at BraIns. Since then, Gabriele has led applied basic research projects, with an emphasis on advanced therapies, cell therapy and nanomedicine, searching for biomarkers and therapeutic targets for neurological diseases, mainly epilepsy, that can assist in the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of this and other diseases of the central nervous system.
