Introduction

Adjunct Professor of the Postgraduate Program in History of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGH / PUCRS) and Professor of the Degree in History (disciplines: "Contemporary History", "Theory and Historiography"; “History of the Brazil Monarchical"). With a postdoctoral degree (PNPD / Capes program) at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2013-2016), he holds a Doctorate in Modern and Contemporary History from the Università degli Studi di Firenze (2011). Graduated in History from the same university. His studies have an emphasis on Italian political history (19th and 20th centuries) and socioeconomic history. In recent years, he has developed research on the history of Italian immigration in Brazil with a particular focus on the aspects of transnationalism; skilled and entrepreneurial immigration; immigration and urbanization; political immigration, ethnic press. He is a foreign collaborator in the research group TRANSFOPRESS Brasil-Study Group of the foreign press in Brazil (CNPq) of UNESP. He is a member of the International Association AREIA (Audioarchivio delle migrazioni tra Europa e América Latina) and ABHO (Brazilian Association of Oral History); researcher at the International Network of Studies on Language, History and Italian Culture, involving the Universities of Nantes (France), Calabria (Italy), Groeningen (Netherlands) and PUCRS (Brazil); founding partner of the "Associazione dei Ricercatori Italiani in Brasile" (ARIB).
