AM Marques da Silva holds a bachelor's degree in Physics - Bachelor's and Bachelor's degree from the University of São Paulo (USP), a Master in Physics, with emphasis in Physics Teaching by USP (1991), PhD in Nuclear Physics by USP (1998), and post-doctorate at KU Leuven (Belgium). She is currently a full professor at PUCRS, coordinator of the Medical Imaging Research group (NIMed) and researcher at the Brain Institute (InsCer). She works as a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering, in Biomedical Engineering, and in the Graduate Program in Biomedical Gerontology in the interdisciplinary area, supervising master and doctoral students. Her research is focused on the areas of Physics and Engineering Applied to Medicine, with emphasis on: acquisition, processing and analysis of medical images; quantification and kinetic modeling in SPECT and PET images; Monte Carlo simulations in medical imaging; quality control of medical images; dosimetry in medical images. She has been the director of the Faculty of Physics of PUCRS from 2006 to 2017. Since 2013, she has been coordinating the Health Residency Program in the Medical Physics, at Hospital São Lucas of PUCRS. Since 2014 she has been the associate editor of EJNMMI Physics and editor in chief of the Brazilian Journal of Medical Physics.
