Professor at the School of Medicine goes on mission in the United States

Ângelo Bós has been at the University of Alabama in Huntsville by the PrInt Program

The professor at the School of Medicine and researcher at PUCRS’s Institute of Geriatrics and Gerontology Ângelo José Gonçalves Bós went on a Work Mission at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), in the United States. In September, the professor met up with researchers and gave two lessons in the partner institution.

The collaboration with the UAH emerged from the interest in using an application for Smartphones in a project of the research group “Attention to the Multiprofessional Care for the Oldest-old” (AMPAL), coordinated by professor Bós. This application was developed by UAH researcher Emil Jovanov, who, in addition to making the application available, also supported the project. With the CAPES-PrInt Project at PUCRS, professor Bós was able to work as visiting professor in 2019, allowing for new opportunities for other professors from the College of Nursing of the Nother-american institution.

Since then, UAH professores and researchers have taken part in several scientific publications from the Line of Research in Public Health and Aging from PUCRS’s Graduate Program in Biomedical Gerontology. The collaboration also included the participation of professors in master’s degree boards and in meetings about the use of medication in nonagenarians and centenarians of Project AMPAL.

Professor Bós visited the UAH through the International Cooperation Project of innovative processes and technologies in health, coordenated by Professor Maria Martha Campos and associated to the Priority Theme Health in Human Development.
