PUCRS faculties to join Unesco Chair

Invitation from Universidade Católica de Brasília strengthens internationalization of research

marilia_e_guilhermeThe professors of the graduate programs in Education and Psychology, Marilia Morosini and Alexandre Anselmo Guilherme, were invited to join the academic staff of the UNESCO Chair of Youth, Education and Society of the Universidade Católica de Brasília (Chair 812) as a collaborator. They will be coordinating research and academic activities to be developed the promotion of a culture of peace, sustainability, global citizenship education and human rights education in contemporary societies.

Guilherme was invited by peers from the Graduate Program in Education at UCB, an institution PUCRS has been working and developing research with in a productive and promising way. “Being accredited by Unesco is very beneficial to the internationalization actions with other institutions and countries,” he says.

Guilherme, who also coordinates the Research Group into Education and Violence, will have his book Filosofia, Dialogo e Educação: Nove Filósofos Europeus Modernos published by the Brasília Unesco in 2019. The original issue titled Philosophy, Dialogue and Education: Nine Modern European Philosophers was published in English by Routledge.
