The professor of the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL), José Amado Mendes, served as a Visiting Professor in the Graduate Program in History of PUCRS. During his stay at the University, Amado Mendes delivered the seminar History and Industrial Heritage, on May 27th, in an effort to address issues related to the history of companies, heritage management and cultural tourism.

Amado Mendes is the Coordinator of the Office of Master’s and PhD Programs and is a member of the Scientific Board of Economic and Social History, Business History, Historiography, Museology and Cultural Heritage of UAL. He has been working in cooperation projects involving PUCRS since he served as a professor of Universidade de Coimbra.

In 2018, PhD student Olívia da Silva did a doctoral research internship at UAL, under the supervision of Mendes. For Dr Claudia Musa Fay, a professor of the Graduate Program in History, the idea behind the mobility of faculty is to continue fostering inter-institutional cooperation, advancing internationalization and giving more and more students the opportunity to do a mobility program.
