Sep 12-16 will see the 1st International Week, an event designed to introduce and address topics related to international careers as well as other countries’ businesses and cultures. The program will include workshops, lectures, discussions and cultural presentations during the week, in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. The event is at no charge.

From Sep 12-16, the Consulates of Germany, Japan, Portugal, Spain, United States and Uruguay will be showing pictures of their local cultures through an exhibition. The idea is to create an atmosphere of international culture inside the University.

Profa. Karina Molsing Prof. Karina Molsing – PUCRS Language Center (LEXIS)
Holds a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with emphasis on Criminal Psychology from the University Of Maryland Baltimore County (2000). Holds a Master’s Degree and a PhD in Linguistics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2010). Relies on a solid experience in Linguistics, with emphasis on Linguistic Theory and Analysis, especially on Semantics, Syntax, Pragmatics and L2 Acquisition.
Profa. Adriana Àlvarez Prof. Adriana Àlvarez – PUCRS Language Center (LEXIS)
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish-Portuguese (Udelar/UFRGS), is a specialist in Spanish-Portuguese Translation (Gama Filho), holds a Master’s degree and a PhD in Brazilian Literature (UFRGS). She has been running her own translation agency (Lecttura Traduções) since 2011 and, since 2010, she has been working as a Professor of Spanish in different colleges (FAPA, UPF, PUCRS). Profa. Maria Elizabeth Schneider Prof. Maria Elizabeth Schneider – PUCRS Language Center (LEXIS)
Has been a Professor at the School of Letters of PUCRS since 1997; holds a Maîtrise de Didactique des Langues from the Université Lumière Lyon 2, France (1994); License de Portugais Mention Français Langue Étrangère from  Université Lumière Lyon 2, France (1993);  a Complément de Spécialisation from the University of Ottawa (2000), in Canada, and a Master’s degree in Language Arts and Literature from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1998). Among her areas of interest are French and Linguistics, with emphasis on Applied Linguistics, specially on language teaching, contrastive pragmatics and L1 transfer to L2.

Earned a PhD in Sciences de Gestion from HEC – École des Hautes Études Commerciales (France) in 1995. Earned a Diplôme dÉtudes Aproffondies – DEAin Concepts et Méthodes de Diagnostique dEntreprises from the Université Paris IX Dauphine (France) in 1992. Earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS in 1991. Earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from UFRGS in 1986 and in Business Administration from UFRGS in 1987. Has been a Professor at the Business School of Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) since 1990. Has been a Visiting Professor at the Catholic University of Uruguay Dámaso A. Larrañaga since 1996. Coordinator of the Master’s Degree in Business Administration from PUCRS from 1998 to 2003. Coordinator of the Office of Planning and Marketing from PUCRS from 2004 to 2014. Dean of PUCRS’ Business School. Deals with Corporate and Marketing Strategy, with solid experience in strategic planning projects, brand management and corporate image.
Marcelo Pias – Bravi Analytics
Interested in database application. Holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University College London (UCL), and did a post-doc at INTEL Research Labs, in the UK. Has been working in large-scale multidisciplinary data projects in areas such as sports, health, IoT, energy efficiency and, more recently, education. Worked as a full-time researcher at Cambridge University until 2010. Co-founder of Bravi Analytics, developing data products for companies.

Attorney and entrepreneur. Amcham’s Regional Manager – American Chamber of Commerce and Vice President of the Board of Auditors of Madeireira Giacomet S/A. Founder of Egalitê Recursos Humanos Especiais and Vaga Exata. Holds a Law School degree from PUCRS, a specialization degree in Corporate law and a Master’s in International Business Law from UFRGS.
Leandro Carrion Leandro Carrion – Strategic Purchasing Manager for Latin America – John Deere
Holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering (FURG), a specialization degree in Business Management from FGV and an MBA from Duke University in North Carolina – USA. Relies on more than 15 years of experience in multifunctional teams in several countries, involving different areas, such as engineering, purchasing, sales, finance, operations and marketing. Has worked for Deere & Company in the USA, leading global teams in India, China, Europe, USA, Mexico and Brazil. In his professional career, has gained experience in Engineering, Purchasing Management, Supplier Development, Cost Management, Risk Management, Project Management, Talent Development and Corporate Leadership.
Maico Matos dos Santos Maico Matos dos Santos – Pirelli
Holds a degree in Control and Automation Engineering from PUCRS. Worked for DHB Sistemas Automotivos and for Dell. Joined Pirelli nine years ago as an intern in the quality and process department, and is now the Head of Quality, having gained experience in project management. Holds anMBA in Corporate Management from FGV.
Monika Adams Sperotto Monika Adams Sperotto – Top Vistos
Monika deals with Travel Visas and has been the co-owner of Top Vistos since 2001. Has a degree in Translation and Interpreting from PUCRS, has worked at the US Consulate in Porto Alegre at the visa department and at Vector Viagens e Turismo. Exchanged in the US for one year through the Youth For Understanding program.
Priscila Schnorr Priscila Schnorr – S7 Study
Is a commercial manager at S7 Study, which is formed by a group of specialized agencies in countries such as Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Has lived in Australia and in Spain and visited the main cities in Canada. Is aware that helping someone accomplish the dream of exchanging abroad is more than a work obligation, but a great pleasure. Believes that seeing people reinventing themselves and the way they see life based on their experiences abroad is a great reward.
Gustavo Pereira Gustavo Pereira – FADIR Professor
Holds a PhD in Philosophy from PUCRS. Holds a Master’s degree in Law from UNISINOS. Professor of International Law at PUCRS. Professor of Human Rights in several Specialization programs. Heads the Study Group “Direitos Humanos e Globalização” from the Law School Program of PUCRS. Attorney at GAIRE – Grupo de Assessoria a Imigrantes e Refugiados of UFRGS.
