Since the beginning of the project until the inauguration of the Pró-Mata Center for Research and Nature Conservation, in April 1996, activities were coordinated by Jeter J. Bertoletti (MCT/PUCRS) with the support of Dieter Wittmann (University of Tübingen, Germany).
Later, the Higher Administration Council, which became the consultative and deliberative body of the Pró-Mata CRNC, represented by the directors of the Institute for the Environment, the Science and Technology Museum, the School of Biosciences, the Advising Office for the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, the University of Tübingen and the Administrative and Scientific Coordination of the Pró-Mata Center for Research and Nature Conservation.
Currently, the Pró-Mata CRNC is directly linked to the Institute for the Environment, located on PUCRS campus, and has a resident team at its headquarters, in São Francisco de Paula. The management of the Research Center is carried out by a Multidisciplinary Team linked to IMA (listed below) and supported by expert consultants.
