Universidad de la Frontera seeks cooperation in health studies

Delegation paid visit to PUCRS and attended meetings

On Friday, Nov 9, PUCRS opened its doors to a delegation of the Universidad de la Frontera, in Chile. Visitors were welcomed at the Great Hall by the President Br. Dr Evilázio Teixeira, and by the Senior Vice President, Dr Jaderson Costa da Costa.

The President reinforced the interest in strengthening the relationship with Latin America and commended the quality of Latin American institutions. Intent on setting up partnerships in the area of health studies, Dr Teixeira reminded visitors that PUCRS’ Medicine program has been elected the best in Brazil in a list that includes private universities, as per the Folha University Ranking (RUF) 2018.

Here is a list of the Chilean representatives who came to Porto Alegre: the Dean of the School of Medicine, Patricio Valdes García; the Director of the Excellence Center in Translational Medicine, Raúl Sanchez Gutierrez; the Director of Graduate Studies and Research, Flery Fonseca Salamanca; the Director of the Pre-Clinical Sciences Department, Christian Herrera Gerge, and the Director of Partnerships, Julia Hazbún Game. In addition to the President and Senior Vice President, PUCRS was represented by the Vice President of Undergraduate Studies and Continued Education Br. Manuir Mentges and the Dean of International Cooperation, Dr Heloísa Delgado.

The delegation visited the Great Hall, and attended meetings at the Office of the Vice President of Graduate Studies and Research (Propesq), at the School and a visit to the Brain Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (InsCer).
