Startup graduated at Raiar wins Global Grand Challenges Award

Egalitê Recursos Humanos Especiais has also won PUCRS' Torneio Empreendedor

Egalitê Recursos Humanos Especiais won the Global Grand Challenges Award from Singularity University, during the Global Summit Singularity University, in San Francisco, California (USA). The company, which took its first steps in the first Torneio Empreendedor da PUCRS, an entrepreneurial projects competition for students in several knowledge areas, and went through Raiar, a startup development project of PUCRS’ Science and Technology Park  (Tecnopuc), won it in the category Prosperity, as it showed a solution case for getting people out of the poverty line.

Singularity has 12 categories, which are related major world problems, such as water, food and the environment. Egalitê was up in the category Prosperity in view of the actions it has been taking for the inclusion of the disabled into the market.

“It’s incredible to know that the things that we do were relevant to Singularity, as it is concerned about the future of the world in the next 50 years. It is rewarding to know that they are taking in consideration what a Brazilian company is thinking in order to solve the problems of the world. We’re very happy”, claims Egalitê’s CEO, Guilherme Braga.

For Tecnopuc’s director, Rafael Prikladnicki, who represented PUCRS in California as the award was given to Egalitê, the company’s achievement makes both the park and Raiar very proud. “What’s more, it illustrates the recognition the country is gaining in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation, in a global scale. There’s got to be more cases like that”, says he. Raiar’s manager, Leandro Pompermaier, goes on to say that Braga’s entrepreneurial growth
