PUCRS joins ODUCAL initiative on internationalization of higher education

Program will offer development webinars for Latin American institutions

PUCRS has now joined the consultative board of ODUCÁTEDRAS, a training program for internationalization of Higher Education of Association of Catholic Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (ODUCAL). The idea is to provide training to member institutions on the topic and contribute for them to achieve academic excellence.

The program has three lines of action: 1) training to managers and / or members of international offices, 2) training of teaching staff and 3) training to the university community in general.

Coordinated by Universidad Católica de Salta (UCASAL), represented by Valeria Vorano, the Advisory Board is composed of: Patricia Serrano Esguerra (Universidad Católica de Colombia). Sandra Beatriz Mino (PUCRS), Pedro José de la Torre Prieto (Universidad Católica de Maule) and Joel Vélez Colón, (Pontifícia Universidad Católica de Porto Rico).

Online events

Several activities will occur from Aug – Dec 2021. The first session will occur on Aug 2, 2021, 12 PM (Brasília time), and will be delivered online. The session Erasmus+ 2021/2027 will be delivered by Bruno Castro Benito, Officer for Policies, Erasmus + and EU, Latin America and North America Relations.

From Oct – Nov, an Internationalization Seminar for teaching staff and members of international offices will be held. It will consist of three lectures and three activities. In December, the calendar of events in 2021 will come to an end with a master talk for the university community of ODUCAL member institutions. All activities will be announced in advance. The seminar is expected to become an Internationalization of Higher Education Diploma in 2022.
