The PrInt program offers possibilities for the internationalization of PhD students, from 6 or 12 months, overseas. In the second semester of 2021, 10 students from different graduate programs at PUCRS did doctoral research internships at partner institutions.

For Juanita Hincapié Pinzón, a student in the graduate program in Psychology, the experience is an opportunity for personal and professional growth. “The learning processes, in cultures that are different from your own, are a unique opportunity for career development as a researcher. The possibility of nurturing skills, gaining knowledge, strengthening institutional partnerships and designing, applying and disseminating the scientific method, provides necessary tools for us to succeed not only in academic life, but also in the constitution of us students as individuals”, she comments.

The student has been at the Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir, Spain, since Sept 2021, working on her research within the priority area Health in Human Development. “The projects help us look at phenomena, dynamics and the world in general from a different perspective. This will allow us to look at differences and similarities in the use of digital technologies as work tools, their influence on the perception of loss of control over working time, the many different roles we play, how much work we are taking, and the possible impacts on the mental health of individuals”, she highlights.
