Radiopharmaceuticals Production Center

BraIns has laboratories with the latest technology in the production of radiopharmaceuticals. These facilities have been built in compliance with the sanitary requirements for the industry of injectable medications, and the Good Practices for the Manufacture of Radiopharmaceuticals, recommended by the National Health Surveillance Agency. The requirements of the National Nuclear Energy Commission are also met, through specific regulations, which aim at ensuring the safety of patients, operators, and the environment.

The Radiopharmaceuticals Production Center is located on the ground floor of the building, next to the bunker structure where the cyclotron is installed. It consists of Laboratories for Production, Physical and Chemical Quality Control, and Microbiological Quality Control. In the Production Laboratory, there is automated equipment installed inside hot cells for the synthesis of radiopharmaceuticals.

The Quality Control Laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art technology devices, such as chromatographs and a multichannel analyzer. The Research & Development Laboratory is located on this same floor, and its focus is the development of new radiotracer molecules.
