Chilean and Brazilian professors evaluated the courses designed for the project

After a visit to PUCRS in July this year, for the final training session of the project Students 4 Change, professors Camila Cristina Osorio and Gladys Alvarado from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), Chile, came back to Porto Alegre from Nov 19 – 23. During the recent visit, they had the chance to learn more and evaluate the courses implemented under the project at PUCRS. Students 4 Change is intended for the promotion of entrepreneurship and social innovation in Latin American universities.
At PUCRS, six new courses have been designed for Students 4 Change, in an effort to bring theory and reality together and generate social impact. They are as follows:
Business Planning (Business School)
Innovation Management (Business School)
Organizational Behavior (Business School)
Business Ventures (School of Technology)
Electrical Installations in Building (School of Technology)
Nutrition, Health and Community (School of Health Sciences)
For Professor Dr Lucas Roldan, coordinator of Students 4 Change at PUCRS, inviting the professors has made it possible for participants to exchange knowledge and experiences, as the pilot courses have been implemented at PUCV, too. “These actions of cooperation have made it possible for us to ultimately achieve consistent results to implement these practices in other courses and increase the impact of the project”, added he. From Nov 5 – 9, Roldan and Professor Dr Flavia Cauduro went to PUCV to learn and evaluate the courses that are offered at the Chilean institution.
About Students 4 Change
The project Students 4 Change seeks to improve the quality and relevance of academic programs in Latin American universities, by fostering the development of social innovation and social entrepreneurship competences. Hence, the capacity to solve urgent social problems these regions are faced sees an increase. In Mar 2019, a meeting will be held in Chile, and both the outcomes and means to maintain the projects will be presented. The closing will take place in Oct 2019. Students 4 Change is promoted by Erasmus+, a European Union program is geared towards education, training, youth and sport.
