Introduction

PhD in Modern and Contemporary History at the University of Coimbra. He currently teaches, researches and teaches at the Postgraduate Program in Criminal Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. He prioritizes as preferred areas of research: the theme of state and identity construction working with two eyes: that of tradition and that of modernity. He chooses modern thought, a theme linked to the History of Ideas, especially with regard to individualism, violence, time and memory.As far as the various publications are concerned, the results of the research can be verified in 30 articles, 39 book chapters, 24 published / organized books, which are highlighted:Time and Historicities (2016); Constitution and Citizenship (2014); The Norma Foundation: beyond historical rationality (2011); Memory, Punishment and Justice: an interdisciplinary approach (2011); Criminology and contemporary legal-criminal systems II (2011); Portuguese Enlightenment Thinking and Influence in the Form of Brazilian Intellectuality (2011); Criminology and Contemporary Legal-Criminal Systems II (2010); The Norma Foundation: beyond historical rationality (2009); Criminology and Contemporary Legal-Criminal Systems (2008); The Kingdom of Stupidity and the Kingdom of Reason (2006); The Quality of Time: beyond the historical appearances (2004).
