Introduction

Graduated in Medicine in 1982 from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. Medical Residency in Pediatrics (1983-1985) and Neurology (1986-1987) at the Hospital São Lucas of PUCRS. PhD in Neurosciences at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 1994. Post-Doctorate in Neurosciences at the "Albert Einstein College of Medicine New York" (USA) in 1998. Board certified on Pediatrics (SBP-AMB) and Neurology (ABN-AMB) with areas of expertise in Child Neurology and Sleep Medicine. She has been a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of PUCRS since 1991 and a researcher at Brain Institute (BraIns) . Coordinates the Neonatal Task Force of the International League against Epilepsy. President of the Scientific Department of Neurology of the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics. Areas of research interest involve childhood epilepsy, developmental neurobiology, sleep and its disorders in childhood and adolescence. She is a 1D productivity researcher at CNPq and coordinates the CNPq research Group “Developmental neurobiology: ontogenesis and bioelectrogenesis” – PUCRS
