Introduction

Professor and researcher at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul - PUCRS. Holds the position of Director of the Institute of Petroleum and Natural Resources of PUCRS (IPR) since November 2017. Member of the permanent staff of the Graduate Program in Materials Technology and Engineering (PGETEMA). Holds a Ph.D. and a masters in Materials Technology and Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, and an undergraduate degree in Control and Automation Engineering from the same university. His area of expertise is Materials engineering, developing new materials and technologies for CO2 capture and conversion. He also develops research in wellbore integrity, focused on oil and gas industry, by evaluating the performance of well cements and steel corrosion under CO2 supercritical conditions. Other areas of interest include biofuels, biogas, hydrogen, direct air capture and geological carbon storage.
