Introduction

Dr. Clarice Beatriz da Costa Söhngen holds a degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (1990), a master's degree in Linguistics and Portuguese Language and Literature from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (1998), a master's degree in Criminal Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2003), and a doctoral degree in Portuguese Language and Literature from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2003). While being a lawyer, she is currently the Coordinator of Academic Development at the PONTIFICAL CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL, a member of the Human Rights Commission - Order of Lawyers of Brazil - Rio Grande do Sul Section, a full professor and permanent member of the Graduate Program in Criminal Sciences at PUCRS and collaborator of the Graduate Program in Philosofy at PUCRS, a member of the Scientific Commission of the Law School (PUCRS), a member of the Heteroidentification Commission at PUCRS, a member of the Diversity Council of the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Sciences (IBCCcrim), member of the Network of Law and Literature (RDL) and a member of the Association of Comparative Law and Literature (ABRALIC). She has experience in teaching and research in the areas of Law and Portuguese Language and Literature, mainly focusing on the following topics: legal hermeneutics and diversities, law and literature, legal methodology, constitutional interpretation, criminology, and democracy.
