Introduction

She holds a degree in Food Technology Pharmacy from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1994), a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1996) and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul South (2000). Currently, she is a full professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) and is a professor at the Postgraduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology and at the Postgraduate Program in Medicine and Health Sciences at PUCRS. She was Vice-President of Research, Innovation and Development of PUCRS in the period 2016-2017. She has been a Vice-President of Research and Postgraduate studies at PUCRS since 2017. She holds a Researh Productiviy Fellowship level 1C granted by CNPq and has experience in the areas of Biochemistry and Neurochemistry, working mainly in the study of neurological diseases and neurotoxicity in zebrafish and rodents, as well as the influence of purinergic signaling under these conditions.
