PUCRS and Universidade de Évora cooperate in Literature and Creative Writing

Joint doctoral degree and doctoral internships to be offered under initiative

2018_11_28-evora-paulo_kralikThe Letters program of PUCRS’ School of Humanities and the Department of Linguistics and Literature of the Universidade de Évora have signed a cooperation agreement in the areas of Literature and Creative Writing. The partnership was officiated during the visit of PUCRS professor Paulo Ricardo Kralik to Portugal in November.

“We have put together a program for 2019 which includes, among other things, mutual visits for professors of both universities to teach courses and participation in academic journals. Joint doctoral degrees and doctoral internships are expected to be offered too”, says he. Both institutions will consider the possibilities of implementing an Évora-PUCRS double degree in the area of Languages and Literature.

In April next year, Professor Kralik is expected to go to Universidade de Évora to teach a course on literature. In October, Professor Cristina Santos should be coming to PUCRS to teach a course on contemporary Portuguese poetry. “We already have students from our Graduate Program in Letters  who are interested in a doctoral internship and double degrees. Today, we are looking at the paperwork to try to implement the double degree in 2019”, adds Kralik.
