Hospital São Lucas initiated activity on October 1976, and it is established in a 49,000 sq m area where it has 603 beds, being 516 for inpatients and emergency patients and 87 for intensive care. The units are supported by a modern Diagnostic Image Center which makes assistance and treatment easier and safer.

The large Surgical Center matches the needs of surgical specialties at all levels to inpatients and outpatients of the Hospital. The professional staff counts on 2,500 employees, 1,200 physicians and 162 accredited intern physicians. Along with the Hospital there is a 9,000 sq meters (sq feet?) Clinical Center, with 76 consulting rooms for 66 medical specialties.
