A professor at PUCRS School of Health and Life Sciences and supervisor in the Graduate Studies Program in Pediatrics and Child Health, Marcio Donadio departed in November for his period as a visiting professor at Universidad Europea de Madrid, Spain. Fellow of the Institutional Project of Internationalization (PUCRS-PrInt), the professor will be abroad until November 2020.

The cooperation is with Universidad Europea de Madrid and the Niño Jesus de Madrid Children’s Hospital, a partnership that began in 2016 with the Exercise Physiology Laboratory coordinated by Dr. Margarita Perez Ruiz, full professor of exercise physiology.

During his period abroad, Donadio has already participated in meetings where he presented PUCRS-PrInt and possibilities for mobility and joint double degree program agreements. The Spanish institution also intends to send a professor to a work mission at PUCRS.

Studies in Electrical Stimulation

Donadio says that during his period as a visiting professor, physical training is being carried out using electrical stimulation in children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis.  Moreover, activities are being carried out with the Pneumopediatrics and Physiotherapy team of Niño Jesus Hospital, including monitoring, evaluation and guidance to patients with chronic respiratory diseases.
