Tecnopuc professionals receive international recognition

Elizabeth Ritter and Rafael Prikladnicki are acknowledged by ATTP and Software Startups Global Research Network

Rafael Prikladnicki and Elizabeth Ritter Technology Transfer expert Elizabeth Ritter dos Santos and the director of PUCRS’ Science and Technology Park (Tecnopuc), Rafael Prikladnicki, have received international recognition unprecedented in Brazil. With extensive experience in the field of ​​intellectual property, Elizabeth has been certified by the Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals  (ATTP) with the title of Registered Technology Transfer Professional, which accredits professionals with outstanding performance in the area in more than 60 countries.

Elizabeth was a pioneer in Brazil, developing procedures related to Technology Transfer management in universities since 1997, when she started activities in this field at UFRGS – a time preceding the National Innovation Law 10,973, which she helped elaborate. The area of ​​Technology Transfer is currently a distinctive feature in universities, as it protects the knowledge produced and its transfer to society. Elizabeth was the first Latin American scholar to be accredited.

Prikladnicki was recognized as 2018 Outstanding Senior Researcher by the Startups Software Global Research Network, a global network that studies topics related to software startups from the scientific point of view. His work was considered outstanding due to the pioneering scientific research he has developed in the field at PUCRS since 2016, when he began studies on the behavior of software startups and the relevance of actions developed by the university’s innovation ecosystem in this context.

The group working in this area at PUCRS currently includes two doctoral students and one master’s student and, in recent years, has counted on the cooperation of researchers and other graduate students from Finland, Norway, Italy and Brazil. The global network was established three years ago in Finland and has dozens of members around the world, including four PUCRS scholars.
