From Sept 13 – 15, PUCRS offered the 4th International Seminar on Adulthood, Health and Education (Sipase), under the theme The Construction of the Teaching Profession: the Developing Teacher. The opening lecture was delivered by Gert Biesta, professor of Education and research director of Brunel University (London) who has written Beyond learning – Democratic education for a human future.

The event, tailored dedicated researchers and professionals as well as undergraduate and graduate students, fostered a discussion on teacher training when it comes to the teacher as an individual. The event featured a lecture by professor Juana Maria Sancho Gil, from Universitat de Barcelona (Spain), who discussed Innovation and teaching. The Associate Dean of the School of HumanitiesBettina Steren dos Santos, served as coordinator for the event.
