Registrations open for Social Volunteer Work for international students

International mobility students at PUCRS can promote civic consciousness and contribute to social development

Notícia Social Volunteering Program-02In an effort to provide a complete and meaningful experience at PUCRS, a partnership between the Office of International Cooperation and the Pastoral and Solidarity Center, has launched the Social Volunteer Work for International Students. The opportunity is aimed at international academic mobility at PUCRS willing to pursue new experiences, exercise civic consciousness and contribute to social development.

The following link is available for registrations. The deadline end on Aug 16. Overall, 10 seats are offered and volunteers will have five institutions to choose from: São Lucas Hospital, Afaso, Casa Menino Jesus de Praga, Centro Cultural Padre Irineu Brand, Santa Clara. On Aug 24, students will have the chance to learn more about the work and activities developed by the institutions. After that, internationals will be able to choose which institution they would like to work with. This event is mandatory for international students registered in the program.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be enrolled at PUCRS;
  • Be an international academic mobility student;
  • Be in Porto Alegre until the end of November (at least);
  • Availability of 1 to 4 hours per week;
  • Attend the mandatory event on Aug 24.
