Earlier in January, PUCRS opened its doors to professors Edwin Valderrama Campos and Luis Alberto Alva Reyer from Universidad Católica de Trujillo Benedicto XVI (UCT), in Peru. PUCRS signed an agreement with the Peruvian institution in 2017, to promote the mobility of faculty, researchers, students and the implementation of joint research projects. Since then, PUCRS teachers have received invitations to teach at the Peruvian institution.

UCT professors came to PUCRS after receiving an invitation from School of Technology  Professor Dr Eleani da Costa, who went to Trujillo in Nov 2019 for the Engineering congress La Ingeniería y su impacto en un Mundo Globalizado. After a number of discussions, the professors got interested in visiting the PUCRS to learn more about the laboratories and research carried out at PUCRS, and develop inter-institutional cooperation projects.

Professors Edwin Valderrama Campos and Luis Alberto Alva Reyer were welcomed at the Office for International Cooperation. They will be staying at PUCRS until the second half of January.
