On Dec 7, the Consul General of Japan for the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, Hajime Kimura, visited the facilities of PUCRS that have been built in support of the movement 360º. Kimura toured around Cultura Square, ATL House and learned more about the remodeling actions in building 15.

The diplomat was welcomed at the Office for International Cooperation  by the Administrative Coordinator Sandra Mino. The Japanese representative and the international office are intent of working closer with Japanese higher education institutions to encourage academic mobility and international research.

Today, PUCRS has cooperation agreements of research with Sophia University, Keio University and Metropolitan Geriatric Hospital and Institute of Gerontology. On the other hand, the academic mobility agreement with Sophia University makes it possible for students to complete one semester of their undergraduate degrees in the Japanese institution. The courses offered at the institution are either in Japanese or in English.
