On Tuesday, Sept 17, 24 international mobility students at PUCRS visited the Centro de Tradições Gaúchas (CTG) Aldeia dos Anjos, in Gravataí. The Semana Farroupilha helped them learn more about the gaucho culture and commemorate the Farroupilha Revolution, Brazil’s longest revolution.

Students from 9 countries attended the event that was sponsored by the Office for International Cooperation: Germany, Colombia, South Korea, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico, Portugal and Sweden. The CTG trip is in the calendar of integration activities offered by the Academic Mobility Team, in an effort to integrate them to the University and to the culture of Rio Grande do Sul.

The event was filled with a dance show by a local group of dancers who shared some interesting facts about the gaucho culture with the audience. To top it off, a typical dinner was served.

CTG Aldeia dos Anjos is recognized for taking part in international events, having performed in 15 countries around the world. In 2017, it won the Grand Prize do Cheonan World Dance Festival, in South Korea.
