Around 30 students from 10 countries joined a Festa Junina at PUCRS on June 26. The activity was filled with typical Brazilian fixings and a video showing students’ the most remarkable moments throughout the semester. Buddy Program volunteers, a PUCRS program that connects local and international students, also made their presences felt.

The event celebrated students’ choice for PUCRS as a destination for international mobility and marked their farewell in Porto Alegre. It is included in the calendar of activities promoted by the Academic Mobility team and and the Office for International Cooperation. Dr Heloísa Delgado, Executive Coordinator of the Office for International Cooperation, claimed that this is such an important event for the construction of a multicultural and internationalized Campus. She also stressed that the University will be more than happy to welcome students in the future, such as in graduate programs.

The Academic Mobility team is now getting ready to welcome new international students for the second semester of 2019. The program Portuguese for International Students, offered at no charge in the two weeks that precede the beginning of the scholastic semester, begins on July 15.
